Air Traffic Management

This file consists of articles and studies concerning Air Traffic Management issues. Current issues in ATM are liberalization of ANSP's, air space (re)organization and maintaing the high levels of safety, capacity, efficiency, environment and security.

The globally rising air traffic numbers make it necessary to organize our airspace in a more efficient and effective way. To be able to accomplish this, states will have to cooperate as well as civil and military airspace users. This is mainly the case in Europe with the institutionalization of Functional Airspace Blocks in the Single European Sky. The European Commission has also started with the SESAR project which has the ambition to meet the future air traffic performance targets. The US has also started a similar research project called NextGen.
