28.9.2011 The 1997 Kyoto protocol states that countries have to emit less CO2. In the case of aviation the ICAO is responsible for the regulation of these emissions. To this day th EU has not yet reached a general agreement and thus took its own measures in the matter. They now encounter resistance from non-EU countries affecting these measures.
